The online MEd in Art Education consists of 36 hours and includes courses focused on the content of art, art history, and art education to promote skill as an artist-researcher-teacher, along with coursework in areas of gifted education, special education, and professional education. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
The hybrid format includes four semesters of online coursework and two summer residencies on our Spartanburg campus. Each two-week residency session provides studio skill support and face-to-face collaboration in seminars. The online courses mimic the on-campus atmosphere by providing students with a learning environment in which they can collaborate and interact with the professor and their peers.
